Oatmeal Variations

Like many health bloggers, I am slightly obsessed with my oats for breakfast. They provide lasting energy to keep my going through the morning. I thought I would share a few of my favorite creations with you.

I cook all of my oats using the same basic method:

  • 1/3 cup oats (I like Scottish Oats)
  • 1 1/4 cup water
  • 1/2 melted banana
  • 1/4 tsp salt

Combine all in a small pot, cover, and over medium high heat until done. Once boiling, it takes about 5-7 minutes, depending on how chewy you like your oats.

Ohhh, I’ve been so boring with oatmeal! I’m thinking chocolate with peanut butter and chocolate with coconut in addition to your yummy concoctions! Thanks so much turning on my imagination!

Hi! Big fan of the blog! I have my own blog and I was wondering how you made multiple tabs on your site (i.e. “my story” “recipes”)

    Ok…calm….deep breath.

Sorry, just way too excited about finding a whole list of porridge recipes. I’m a diehard porridge fan too and always throwing in this and that…although lately it has been getting so hot here in Sydney that I’ve been just mixing raw porridge oats with muesli and yoghurt instead.

But I think I may have to suffer the heat and get back on the porridge wagon with all these delicious recipes! Thank you!
